Hi, I’m Dania
So glad you're here. I hope my nursing journey can help inspire + empower a little of yours. I am also here to talk about all things nursing!
My Nursing Journey
Let me start by saying, I juggle so many commitments. I honestly do not know how I do it—but shoutout to my husband and my family for their support. I have been a nurse for about 3 years now. I graduated with my BSN from CSU Long Beach in 2018. A few weeks later, I started a new-graduate residency program at a magnet-recognized hospital. And since then, my career as a nurse and young leader has taken off.
#1: I am a med-surg/tele travel nurse (but I only take local assignments). I switched to travel nursing in November 2021. Like many, I was struggling with burnout + desperately needed a change. While travel nursing is hard, it gives me the flexibility + financial stability I need in my mid-20s. Plus, so much more experience!
#2: I am a family nurse practitioner student at Loma Linda University. I started my DNP program in winter 2020. I graduate in summer 2023.
#3: I am Sigma’s united nations youth representative. I started this role in 2019, and it has been an honor to represent the nursing profession at a global scale. As the name implies, I represent Sigma + nurses at the UN. I spread awareness around the world to help nurses better understand what the UN actually does + how they can contribute to the aims of the UN.
#4: I am an undergraduate clinical instructor at Loma Linda University. I teach med-surg.
#5: I am a board member for two humanitarian organizations.
